May 21st

Hi All,

Just a quick note to let you know we heard back from Dr. Einhorn about possible risks associated with eliminating the Bleo from Cycle 4. His exact response:

“We have been doing this for over 30 years and always look at the risk and benefits of any therapy. If you were being treated here we would delete the last 3 weeks of bleo and just give EP alone for the 4th course. If we thought there would be benefit with BEP for the 4th course we would recommend it.”

Right! You just can’t argue with that logic, SO we’re putting our money on Einhorn and Shaun’s last day of chemotherapy will be this Friday, May21st!

Four more sleeps,

  1. Thinking about you everyday and thrilled to hear that there’s 4 more sleeps to go!

    • Hey Richelle,

I’m really looking forward to seeing the whole family at the Links for Hope golf tournament on June 6th. See you soon guys!

  2. Now that’s the way to kick off a long weekend! Being able to refer to chemotherapy treatment in the past tense. Such great news! I’ve been reading the Dr. E updates in amazement. When you’re ready to write a book about this journey, no one will believe your correspondence with Dr. E. or Dr. Amazing, as I’ve now nicknamed him.

When I watch the fireworks this weekend Shaun and Jules – I will think of them as a celebration of this important milestone in your journey.

    love to you both

    • Hello Lorraine,

Thank God for Julianne’s contact with Dr. E, it’s made everything a little bit easier. I’m looking forward to ringing the bell at PMH to signify the completion of the chemo. And can’t wait to see the fireworks this weekend!

    • Thanks Lorraine :*)

  3. Congratulations, just in time to celebrate the May 24 weekend.

  4. I can’t believe you are this close to the end!! How are you going to celebrate? Looking forward to seeing you again soon honey… miss you!

    • Hi Annie,

We’re really looking forward to seeing you soon! I’m not sure how we’ll celebrate but I know we’ll find a way! Travel safely.

  5. Fantastic news! We are so happy to hear that this leg of the journey is coming to a rapid conclusion! Shaun, if there is a song re-mixed or written at Sauble this weekend, you can be sure that it will be dedicated to you! Thinking of you both, and look forward to seeing you soon. Best, Jason, Sandra (& Leah & Peanut #2)

    • Hello Sandra and gang,

That’s terrific news about peanut #2! Hope you’re all well. I really wish we could make an appearance in Sauble this weekend. We’ll be thinking about you – have a fantastic time and fingers crossed for great weather.
